2027: Coalition ready to withstand sabotage, internal crisis — Malami

Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has expressed optimism that the emerging opposition coalition can withstand internal conflicts, sabotage, and personal rivalries as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Speaking in a recent interview, Malami acknowledged that political coalitions are often exposed to disruptions and infiltration, but emphasized the group’s readiness to tackle such issues.

“No political structure is immune to sabotage, infiltration, or clashing ambitions,” he stated. “However, we are determined to stay the course and confront whatever obstacles may come.”

Malami, who recently left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has become a prominent figure in the coalition aiming to challenge the ruling party’s hold on power.

He stressed that while ambition is a normal part of politics, a coalition’s success depends on how well it manages those ambitions through discipline and a shared purpose.

“Ambition is part of political life, but the key is managing it effectively—that’s what sets strong alliances apart,” he said.
