2027: I will lead Tinubu’s campaign – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared his intention to spearhead President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.

Speaking on Monday in Abuja, Wike hinted that he would take a prominent role in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign for the next election cycle.

Responding to a question about whether he would lead the APC campaign in 2027, Wike said:

“I’ve said this before — is it because I’m part of Asiwaju’s administration that you’re surprised? Aren’t you aware I’ll be leading his campaign in Rivers State? Do you want me to deny it?

“You already know Tinubu didn’t even secure 10 percent of the vote here in the FCT, but next time, he’ll win. Isn’t that obvious?

“Stop asking questions you already know the answers to. Of course I’ll be involved — it’s no secret.

“I’ve always maintained that the South deserves to produce the president.”
