Rivers crisis: ‘I know the solution, stop causing problems’ – Fubara to supporters

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, has stated that he understands how best to handle his current challenges and urged his supporters not to take actions that could undermine his peace efforts.

Fubara made the appeal during a service of songs held in Port Harcourt on Sunday in honour of the late elder statesman, Edwin Clark. He noted that while some of his supporters may act out of loyalty, their actions are, in fact, complicating his situation.

“Don’t act based on what you want; act based on what I need,” Fubara said. “I’m the one wearing the shoes—I know where it hurts and how to move forward. Some of your actions, rather than helping, are disrupting my peace process and creating more issues.”

Previously, Fubara expressed disinterest in reclaiming his governorship position, saying his “spirit” had already moved on.

President Bola Tinubu recently suspended Fubara, his deputy, and the entire state House of Assembly for six months amid ongoing political turmoil in the state. A state of emergency was declared, and a Sole Administrator appointed to govern Rivers State during the interim.
