BREAKING: Petrol Marketers reduce fuel price nationwide

Petroleum marketers across Nigeria have lowered the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

Abubakar Maigandi, President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), confirmed the development in an interview with DAILY POST on Wednesday.

He stated that IPMAN members in Northern Nigeria, including Abuja, have reduced petrol prices to between N930 and N940 per litre, down from N945 to N975.

In Lagos, petrol is now being sold at N890 per litre, a drop from the previous N925, while in the eastern region, prices range between N950 and N960.

Maigandi attributed the price cuts to the recent reduction in ex-depot prices by Dangote Refinery.

DAILY POST observed that some Abuja stations, such as Empire Energy and Raniol in Gwarimpa, adjusted their prices to N955 and N945 on Wednesday, down from N975 and N960 earlier in the week.

However, prices at MRS and NNPC Retail outlets in Abuja remained unchanged at the time of reporting.

This follows Dangote Refinery’s recent move on Monday to lower its ex-depot petrol price from N880 to N840 per litre.
