Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has arrived at the National Assembly complex to resume her legislative duties.
DAILY POST had earlier reported heightened security presence at the Assembly in anticipation of her planned return.
Supporters of the senator gathered at the National Assembly gate, awaiting her arrival.
Natasha had declared on Saturday her intention to resume plenary on Tuesday, July 22, citing a recent ruling by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja as her legal basis.
However, Senate Committee Chairman on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, countered her claim in a statement on Sunday, saying the court only issued an “advisory opinion” and not a binding directive on the Senate.
Despite the Senate’s stance, Akpoti-Uduaghan insisted on taking her seat.
On Tuesday morning, a viral video circulated on social media showing a heavy deployment of security personnel, including armed officers, stationed at the National Assembly’s entrance—apparently as a precaution against possible unrest linked to her return.
