There was commotion at the entrance of the National Assembly complex in Abuja on Tuesday as security personnel blocked suspended Kogi Central senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, from entering the premises. She arrived with a large group of supporters, accompanied by well-known activist Aisha Yesufu, rights advocate Mama P, and fellow activist Randy.
Despite their presence, security operatives refused to grant them access, citing unspecified directives.
The situation grew tense when Yesufu confronted the officers, questioning the legitimacy of the order.
“This is the National Assembly—it belongs to everyone. Why are we being denied entry?” she demanded.
“Refusing to obey doesn’t mean we’re weak,” she added defiantly.
As frustration mounted, some of Natasha’s supporters chanted “Push!” and tried to force the gate open.
Eventually, the group moved toward the Assembly building, singing protest songs and voicing their opposition to the senator’s continued exclusion.
