Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation Commits To Training 3,000 Public Leaders

Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, the founder of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, announced a significant commitment to training up to 3,000 public leaders to a world-class standard with an investment of $100 million. He made this announcement at the graduation ceremony of the 3rd cohorts for the Aig Public Leaders Programme 2024 in Abuja. Aig-Imoukhuede emphasized the importance of investing in the skills of public sector personnel across various levels, including junior, middle, and senior positions.

During the event, he stated, “We have historically under-invested in the skills of our public sector personnel, so we have committed a substantial $100 million over a certain period to train up to 3,000 public leaders to a world-class standard. We have collaborated with the University of Oxford to arrange training programs in Nigeria and also send West African public sector employees to Oxford University for masters in public policy. Additionally, we provide fellowships to outstanding Africans who excel in the public sector.”

Highlighting the foundation’s contributions to the country, Dr. Folashade Yemi Esan, the Head of Civil Service, acknowledged the technical and financial assistance provided by the foundation. She mentioned that the foundation has played a crucial role in championing digitalization, enhancing civil servants’ capacity, and conducting training programs and mentoring sessions for permanent secretaries and directors.

Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, commended the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation for its impactful initiatives. He expressed admiration for the foundation’s efforts in building capacity in the public service, where it is most needed.
