The traditional ruler of Otulu community in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Joe Ochulor, has been killed after being kidnapped by unidentified gunmen. The monarch’s lifeless body was discovered on the roadside in Mbutu community in the neighboring Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area on Saturday night.
According to a source, the king was abducted from his palace on Saturday morning, causing fear among villagers. The Spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoye, confirmed the killing and stated that the state Commissioner of Police had declared a manhunt for the perpetrators. The incident follows the recent assassination of the ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the same local government area.
