Diaspora Doctors establish 10 hospitals in Nigeria

The Chairman, Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa says 10 hospitals have been established in the country by Nigerian Doctors in the Diaspora.

Mrs Dibiri-Erewa stated this in Abuja when she received the management of the African Medical Centre of Excellence – a Medical facility that promotes indigenous research and local expertise in the health sector.

She urged the management of the centre not to forget their host communities in giving back to them as part of their corporate social responsibility.

She assured them of the readiness of NiDCOM to ensure speedy take off of the hospitals.

The Chief Executive Officer, African Medical Centre of Excellence, Brian Deaver said the team was in NiDCOM to seek partnership that would include training of Nigerian Doctors to keep them in the country.

The Chief Medical officer of the Centre, Dr Aisha Umar said the hospitals, when fully operational, will “attract partners from all over the world” and improve the country’s health sector.
