Benjamin Tanimu expresses his immense joy at achieving his dream of representing the Super Eagles for the first time.

The defender, who currently plays for Tanzanian club Ihefu SC, made his debut in the Super Eagles’ 2-1 friendly victory against the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday.

The 21-year-old featured for 71 minutes before being substituted by Ademola Lookman.

Tanimu took to social media to share his excitement about his debut for the three-time African champions.

“I am incredibly delighted today. Making my debut is a blessing, and I am thankful to God for granting me the opportunity to contribute in my own way. I extend my gratitude to the coaching staff, the entire support team, and the senior players for their warm welcome into the team,” the defender wrote on his social media page.

“I am grateful to my amazing fans worldwide, particularly the wonderful Nigerians who have shown me love and support over the years. I appreciate your unwavering support. I also salute the Nigerian media for their excellent coverage, and I hold you all in high regard. Let’s continue to rally behind the Eagles with our unwavering support. This moment is truly a dream come true for me.”

Before his move abroad, Tanimu played a significant role for Bendel Insurance, a prominent team in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
