Edikwu-Ankpali attack: ‘We won’t accept these unprovoked killings any longer’ – Senator Moro

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, has strongly condemned the recent attack on Edikwu-Ankpali community in Apa Local Government Area, describing the killings and kidnappings as “unprovoked and unacceptable.”

Senator Moro made this declaration on Thursday, during an on-the-spot assessment visit to the community alongside the Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ojotu Ojema, and other concerned stakeholders.

The visit came in the aftermath of a brutal assault by suspected herdsmen, which left eleven residents dead, many injured, and several displaced. Addressing the grieving community, Senator Moro expressed deep sorrow over the unrelenting violence plaguing parts of Benue South.

“These killings and kidnappings are unprovoked and unacceptable. Our communities are under constant siege, and it is heartbreaking that despite all the cries for help, the attacks continue unabated,” he said.

Moro assured the residents that he remains committed to advocating for the protection of lives and property, both at the Senate and in collaboration with other elected officials. He pledged to continue speaking out until lasting peace is restored to the area.

“I will not keep quiet. I will not retreat. I will continue to demand justice and security for our people. This is not just a political responsibility, it is a moral obligation,” the senator stated.
