Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, recently declined a $5 million offer to perform in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
He cited his refusal to accept the offer because he wouldn’t be permitted to use weed in Dubai. According to Emirati law, smoking is prohibited in parks, beaches, and all public recreational areas in Dubai.
In a video circulating on the social media platform X, Burna Boy can be heard saying, “I just turned down an offer in Dubai for $5 million, but that’s no big deal because I don’t like going to places where I can’t smoke weed.” He mentioned this while freestyling during a rehearsal with his band, Outsiders.
