Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has distributed farm inputs to 1,000 Mandunari Internally Displaced Persons and their host communities for the 2025 cropping season.
Buni charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the implement as the cropping season sets in.
He said the government would continue to support the people to embrace agriculture for food security and economic growth.
“This event marks yet another milestone in our commitment to building resilience and restoring livelihood for displaced persons in Yobe state, in line with the implementation of Yobe state action plan on durable solutions to internally displacement”, Buni said.
Alh. Mukhtar Mandunari, who responded on bahalf of the beneficiaries said the community would embark on self check to guard against selling off of the materials.
“Anyone who dispose off the materials would be blacklisted from benefitting in future supports”, he warned.
The inputs include assorted improved seedlings, fertilizer, herbicides, solar-powered water pumps for irrigation, hoes and cutlass among others.
“For raining season package, each beneficiary received a combination of the following items: improved seeds, sorghum, cowpies, maize, okra, groundnut, millet, rice, NPK and liquid fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides, sprayers, hoes and cutlasses.
“Dry season package include: water pumps, agro-chemicals, improved sees for onions, tomatoes, cabbage, lotus, pepper, rice and carrort”, he said.
