Honorable Zayyanu Muhammad Bello, who served as the Executive Chairman of Maiyama Local Government Area, has passed away. The Kebbi State Government officially confirmed his demise following an extended period of illness. The announcement of his death was made public by Ahmed Idris, the spokesperson for the state governor, on Thursday.
Bello, a committed public servant, breathed his last in the early morning at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) in Sokoto.
In a statement, Idris conveyed the unfortunate news, saying, “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Hon. Zayyanu Muhammad Bello, the Executive Chairman of Maiyama Local Government. He succumbed to his prolonged illness early this morning at UDUTH Sokoto.”
The statement further mentioned that the government would provide details regarding his burial arrangements to the public in the coming days.
