During the abduction incident involving schoolchildren in the Kuriga area of Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna State, a teacher who was also taken captive has passed away while in captivity. Governor Uba Sani revealed this information during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics program.
The governor clarified that all the abducted schoolchildren were successfully rescued by the military, working in conjunction with local authorities from neighboring Zamfara State. He expressed sorrow over the unfortunate death of the teacher due to health complications while being held by the kidnappers.
Governor Sani stated, “Only one individual, the teacher, has not returned. That is the reality, but all 137 children have been safely reunited.”
