There was a dramatic and infamous funeral service held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
AGENDA ONLINE NEWSPAPER gathered that a group of masquerade worshippers stormed the funeral service organised by a Christian denomination Church and chased away church members while taking over the burial ceremony of the deceased.
According to sources, the Masquerades, a traditional convention common in many parts of Nigeria, told the deceased family that their father was not a Christian but their member.
“Earlier today (Saturday), at a Funeral service, Masquerades chased Church members away and took over a funeral service today in Oruk Anam LGA, Akwa Ibom State.
“’Your Father was our member not a Christian’, Masquerades tell the deceased family members”, Zeal Inyang Enoidem posted on Facebook.
