NAHCON begins preparations for 2026 Hajj

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially begun preparations for the 2026 Hajj, just after wrapping up the 2025 pilgrimage.

NAHCON’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, made this known while speaking to journalists in Kano on Thursday following his return from Saudi Arabia.

Prof. Usman described the feedback from pilgrims and key stakeholders—including members of the National Assembly Committees on Foreign Affairs and Hajj Affairs—as overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the success of the 2025 Hajj operations.

“We’ve gained valuable insights from this year’s Hajj, and we’re committed to making the 2026 exercise even more efficient and impactful,” he stated.

He advised prospective pilgrims to begin registration early, noting that the Saudi authorities have emphasized strict deadlines for completing all travel and logistical preparations.

“We’ve been clearly informed by Saudi officials that no delays will be tolerated. All countries must complete their arrangements well in advance,” Prof. Usman warned.

He added that NAHCON is currently seeking approval to announce the 2026 Hajj fare and urged all interested pilgrims to register as soon as possible.
