Nigerian Army forces have successfully eliminated a well-known leader of terrorist activities, Junaidu Fasagora, along with numerous fighters, in Zamfara State.
The troops engaged and neutralized the terrorist leader and his associates on Wednesday during a counter-insurgency operation in the Tsafe general area of the state.
In a statement released by the Nigerian Army through its official channels, it was disclosed that Junaidu Fasagora and his terrorist group have long been responsible for numerous kidnappings and other acts of terrorism across several states in the North West region.
The statement reads: “Troops deployed by the Nigerian Army in Zamfara State for counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in the North West Region have successfully neutralized a notorious terrorist leader, Junaidu Fasagora, and a significant number of his fighters after intense artillery bombardment and ground combat in the Tsafe general area of Zamfara State.
“Junaidu Fasagora and his terrorist group have been consistently involved in a series of kidnappings and other terrorist activities targeting civilians across various states in the North West.
“Their elimination represents a significant victory in the ongoing fight against terrorism and insurgency.
“Our troops remain dedicated to sustaining the ongoing operations against terrorism, insurgency, and other criminal activities to restore safety and security to troubled areas.”
