The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has revealed that it identified a total of 83 illicit refineries in the Niger Delta within the past seven days. This information was shared by the NNPCL on its official X handle on Tuesday. Additionally, the company reported the discovery of 15 unauthorized pipeline connections during the same timeframe.
The NNPCL specified that among the 83 illegal refineries, they were located in Rivers, Abia, Imo, and Bayelsa states. Moreover, the company reported a total of 211 incidents related to oil theft and vandalism occurring between January 6th and 12th, 2024.
