Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, expressed his deep sorrow at the passing of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II. Obi emphasized that Balogun’s demise has left a painful void in Ibadanland and across Nigeria. The late Olubadan was recently laid to rest in accordance with Muslim customs.
In a message shared on X, Obi lamented the loss, describing Balogun as a genuine Nigerian dedicated to advancing the nation’s progress. He noted Balogun’s service as a lawmaker and his significant contributions to national development. Obi extended heartfelt condolences to the Balogun family, the government, and the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State, praying for divine strength to cope with the irreparable loss.
