Otukpo residents protest high cost of tuition fees at FUHSO

On Monday morning, residents of Otukpo in Benue expressed their discontent by taking to the streets to protest against the exorbitant tuition fees and the apparent bias in hiring practices at the Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo, located in Benue State.

The protesters, marching through the streets of Otukpo and around the university’s temporary site, voiced their grievances regarding the high cost of attending the institution and the perceived discrimination against local residents in employment opportunities.

Holding placards and singing songs, the residents highlighted the frustration of seeing their own children and relatives being denied admission to a university situated in their own community. It’s worth noting that FUHSO was established with the aim of facilitating education in specialized fields and making it more accessible and affordable.
