Ramadan: Sultan of Sokoto formerly declares Wednesday Eid-el-Fitri

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has announced that Wednesday, April 10, will be observed as Eid-el-Fitri day. This announcement was made through a press release signed by Professor Sambo Junaidu, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council. The statement confirmed the council’s acceptance of the report, officially marking Wednesday as the start of Shawwal 1445AH, as communicated in a press release in Sokoto on Monday evening.

His Eminence, the Sultan, extends his warm wishes to the Nigerian Muslim community, praying for Allah’s guidance and blessings upon them. He urges Muslims to continue praying for peace, progress, and development in the country, while also extending greetings for a joyful Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
