Gov Uzodinma has shown lack of leadership capacity in last three years – ADC

Published

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has asserted that Governor Hope Uzodinma has squandered three years and ten months in his role as the governor of Imo State. The party claimed that Uzodinma has not demonstrated the necessary competence and lacks local support to effectively address insecurity and establish lasting peace in Imo.

Chilos Godsent, the Southeast National Vice Chairman of the ADC, made these statements in a release on Thursday following the recent fatal attack on Nigeria Police Force officers in Ahiara Mbaise by unidentified gunmen on Monday.

While acknowledging Uzodinma’s initial political determination to combat banditry in the state, the ADC leadership criticized the governor’s strategies as crude and likely to yield unsatisfactory results. They pointed out that since Uzodinma assumed office in January 2020, the state’s economy has consistently deteriorated, leading to increased militarization and hardships for the populace.

The ADC challenged the government to make public its achievements since the beginning of Uzodinma’s tenure in 2020. The party contended that the APC-led government, under Senator Uzodinma, lacks programs in key areas such as agriculture, education, healthcare, housing, industry, infrastructure, security, and youth and women development.
