Napoli’s manager, Walter Mazzarri, has admitted that Victor Osimhen requires additional time to return to his optimal performance level. Since recovering from a hamstring injury, Osimhen has encountered challenges in reaching his peak form, resulting in scoreless performances against Bologna, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan.
As Napoli prepares to face Juventus at the Allianz Arena in Turin on Friday, Mazzarri suggested that Osimhen has not yet reached his best condition.
“Osimhen obviously needs time to find his best form, also in terms of physical conformation,” Mazzarri commented, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“However, it’s evident that even if he wasn’t at one hundred percent, he can still provide me with strong assurances given the power he knows how to demonstrate, even in portions of matches, as he has shown so far since his return.”
Despite the ongoing recovery process, the 24-year-old Nigerian striker has managed to score six goals in 10 league appearances for Napoli this season.
