Tinubu signs N2.17trn Supplementary Budget into law

President Bola Tinubu has approved the 2023 Supplementary Budget worth N2.17 trillion. The signing took place in his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, with the presence of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.

The signing event was also attended by Senate Leader Sen Opeyemi Bamidele, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance Sen Olamilakan Adeola, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu, and Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service Zachs Adedeji.

The purpose of the Supplementary Budget is to provide additional funding to support the expenditures outlined in the 2023 budget, which was previously signed by the former President, Muhammadu Buhari.
