Victim of police shooting not our student – LAUTECH

The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso has clarified that the individual who was reportedly killed by a policeman is not enrolled as a student at the university.

Mr. Akin Fadeyi, the Public Relations Officer of the university, provided this clarification in a conversation with DAILY POST on Tuesday night.

Earlier reports had indicated that a student was fatally shot by a police officer, with two others sustaining injuries.

However, Fadeyi stated that the incident did not occur within the university premises. He explained that the altercation took place around 2 am at a club, and not at any establishment affiliated with LAUTECH.

He emphasized that the victim who lost his life was not affiliated with LAUTECH, and therefore, the incident was unrelated to the university or its convocation ceremony.

According to Fadeyi, the altercation arose among individuals at a nightclub situated away from the university campus, resulting in the tragic outcome.
