We’ll follow Fubara wherever he goes – Rivers Women

A group of women in Rivers State, under the banner of Rivers Women Unite for Sim (RWUS), has declared their full support for the suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s appeal for peace and pledged to stand by him through any political changes.

The women made this known on Sunday in Port Harcourt during a thanksgiving service held to celebrate the recent reconciliation between Governor Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Dressed in pink outfits symbolizing unity and celebration, the women sang, danced, and offered prayers of gratitude, describing the reconciliation as a long-overdue step toward restoring peace in the state.

They hailed the development as a positive shift for political stability in Rivers and extended appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Fubara, and Minister Wike for placing the state’s interests above personal differences.

Florence Itamunoala, a retired Director from the Ministry of Justice and one of the group’s leaders, affirmed their confidence in Fubara’s leadership.
“He has called for peace, and we are ready to follow him wherever he leads. We trust his leadership and see this reconciliation as a blessing for the people of Rivers State,” she said.

The group’s spiritual head, Pastor Nancy Nwankwo, led prayers for Governor Fubara’s reinstatement and expressed faith that the state’s political crisis would soon be resolved.

The women described the reconciliation not only as a political breakthrough but also as a spiritual triumph for the state. They called on all Rivers residents to stay united and calm as the state moves in a new direction.
