We’ve returned to Buhari era – CUPP kicks over Tinubu’s frequent foreign trips

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has expressed disagreement with President Bola Tinubu regarding his recent undisclosed trip to France. The group questions the rationale behind the president undertaking such a journey when, in its view, Nigeria is in urgent need of leadership.

CUPP has raised concerns and expressed discontent with the frequency of Tinubu’s undisclosed trips to France, suggesting that the country might be returning to a situation reminiscent of the Buhari era. The coalition recommends that a comprehensive health and fitness examination be mandatory when selecting a leader to prevent such situations in the future.

In a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Peter Ameh, the coalition expresses hope that these private trips do not involve any hidden activities that are being kept from the Nigerian public. Speculations and discussions have emerged about the true reasons behind these private visits.

CUPP emphasizes the critical issues facing Nigeria, including insecurity, soaring inflation, hunger, unemployment, and the plummeting value of the naira against the U.S. dollar. The coalition urges President Tinubu to recognize the challenges confronting the nation and stresses the need for a hands-on-deck president.

The coalition believes that any reasons for private visits can be adequately addressed within Nigeria, and if necessary facilities are lacking, arrangements should urgently be made to bring them to the country. CUPP asserts that Nigeria requires the physical presence of its president to assure the public that the responsibilities of the presidency are not being delegated to those who are unfit for the task.
