Facts have emerged on why Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar resigned from his position.
While the former Defence Minister cited health reasons, impeccable sources within the presidency informed The Agenda Online that the former Minister was “compelled to resign by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pave way for appointment of one with military background to be appointed as Minister of Defence.”
Meanwhile, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed Badaru’s resignation in a statement released on Monday.
In the letter, Badaru cited poor health as the reason for stepping down. President Tinubu has accepted the resignation and expressed gratitude for the minister’s service to the nation.
