The World Bank is to spent $85 million for execution of a four years programme for the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) in Kebbi state.
The State Project Coordinator, Sule Abubakar stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria Correspondent Abdullahi Tukur in Birnin Kebbi.
He said, the project was operating in seven states that include, Kebbi, Katsina, Kaduna, Kano, Borno, Plateau and Ekiti.
The Coordinator of the Project said the programme was to bring adolescent girls that were out of school back to school so that they can complete their secondary education and obtain a school certificate.
According to him, the programme recorded successes from inception in April 2022 to date by assisting those that left school with five thousand naira per term.
Abubakar stated that, the programme had reached out almost all secondary schools in the state in terms of school renovation, provision of toilets, portable drinking water and skills acquisition.
He noted that, the security challenge in the southern part of the state is the biggest challenge being faced by the programme.
