Organized Labour has declared a nationwide strike starting from Tuesday, November 14, 2023, until further notice.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) announced the strike after an emergency meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.
The unions are protesting the attack on the NLC President, Joe Ajaero, in Imo State last week.
Starting Wednesday, November 8, the unions will withdraw their services from Imo State, including flight operations, electricity, and the supply of petrol.
If the government does not meet the unions’ demands, the strike will be extended to the rest of the country on Tuesday, November 14.
