Tinubu appoints three new executive commissioners for NUPRC

President Bola Tinubu has given his authorization for the appointment of three new executive commissioners in the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the reassignment of one existing executive commissioner, subject to confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.

This information was revealed by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, in a statement released on Tuesday.

The newly appointed executive commissioners include Bashir Indabawa, who will serve as the Executive Commissioner for Exploration and Acreage Management in the North West region; Dr. Kelechi Ofoegbu, who has been reassigned as the Executive Commissioner for Corporate Services and Administration in the Southeast region; Enorense Amadasu, who will serve as the Executive Commissioner for Development and Production in the South-South region; and Babajide Fasina, who will be the Executive Commissioner for Economic Regulation and Strategic Planning in the South West region.

Ngelale explained that the President’s decision to reshuffle and appoint new commissioners is based on a thorough assessment of all relevant factors within the sector. The aim is to establish a regulatory framework and a culture that discourages misconduct and encourages diligence and adherence to established business practices throughout the industry.
