PSC disowns trending invitation for screening with request for N2000 levy

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has denied any association with the circulating invitations for screenings that request a payment of two thousand Naira. In a statement by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations, it was clarified that the message, claiming to be from the Commission, falsely informed recipients of their shortlisting for physical screenings on January 8, 2024, and instructed them to bring along 2,000 Naira.

The PSC emphasized that this publication is entirely fictitious and misleading, disowning and distancing itself from the misleading message. The Commission reiterated that the ongoing recruitment process, from registration to the final medical examination, is entirely free. There has been no change that would justify requesting candidates to bring 2,000 Naira for the screening exercise.

A warning was issued, stating that the Commission will no longer tolerate the interference of fraudsters seeking to compromise the ongoing recruitment exercise. Prospective candidates were advised to disregard such misleading messages, as the Police Recruitment Board is currently sending authentic messages to successful candidates, providing detailed information about the screening exercise.

The Commission affirmed its commitment to maintaining a transparent, merit-based recruitment process in accordance with the Federal Character principles. It reassured candidates that no fees would be imposed at any stage of the process, emphasizing the implementation of strict regulations to protect the integrity of the recruitment exercise from beginning to end. The PSC pledged to ensure that the outcome of the exercise meets international standards, producing candidates capable of contributing to the realization of the ideal police force.
